Q: What is Walltalk?
Walltalk is a wonderful form of vinyl typography, meaning that it is the appearance of printed or written characters in vinyl. Walltalk quotes and words are pre-spaced, individually cut adhesive letters that press on your wall or any flat surface.
Q: What does “pre-spaced” mean and can I place the lettering in different ways?
Pre-spaced simple means that the positioning and spacing of the letters and words is done for you already. Your quote comes as a single roll of text which you can apply as is or cut the words into increments as you wish. By cutting the quotes, you can apply them to suit the size of space you have to work with. It also allows you to be creative! For example; cut up a quote and place words running up stair risers.
Q: What is Walltalk made of?
High quality, light vinyl that has a light adhesive backing for easy and damage free application to walls or other smooth surfaces.
Q: Does it have a clear background?
Yuk! That doesn’t look very nice on a wall!
Walltalk quotes and words are individual letters that are prepositioned using an application mask that is removed after applying Walltalk.
Q: Can Walltalk be applied to any surface?
The surface must be clean, smooth, and weather-resistant. Walltalk may not adhere to heavily-textured surfaces and we don’t recommend that you apply to surfaces such as brick, concrete block or stucco.
Q: Can Walltalk be applied on wallpaper?
Yes, as long as the wallpaper is not heavily textured.
Q: Can I apply Walltalk over any type of painted wall?
Walltalk quotes can be applied to basically all types of decorating paints, such as latex- and oil-based. We don’t recommend that you apply over highly textured paints such as sand or suede based.
Important! Freshly painted walls should be allowed to cure for at least two weeks before you apply Walltalk.
Q: Will applying Walltalk ever damage my wall or other surface I apply it to?
When applying to walls there should be no damage providing the walls have been prepared (paint has cured).
Q: I want to put Walltalk up in my kitchen or bathroom where there is some humidity. Is this okay?
Yes. Walltalk can withstand the elements of heat and humidity however, over an extended period of time and depending on the amount of humidity generated, the adhesive may weaken.
Q: Can I apply Walltalk to a cold surface such as my front door?
Absolutely, but make sure the surface and your Walltalk quote are at room temperature. If a surface is too cold, heat it to room temperature with a blow dryer on the low setting.
Q: What else can Walltalk be applied to?
Get creative with Walltalk! Your options are endless because you can use any flat, smooth surface that you can hang on your wall such as a painted board, glass, plexi-glass, mirror, tiles, metal, glass ceramics, and more!
Q: Does Walltalk have an expiration date?
Walltalk will last up to 1 year depending on the conditions and temperature of where it is stored. For best results, we recommend that you apply your Walltalk soon after you purchase it for best results. Why wait?
Care and maintenance
Q: Can I wash Walltalk once it has been applied?
Yes, with a soft cloth or sponge dampened with cool water. It’s best to avoid using cleaners that contain alcohol, abrasives, citrus additives, or ammonias. If you have applied Walltalk to a window or mirror, avoid glass cleaners that contain alcohol, ammonia, or citrus additives.
Outdoor Usage Questions
Q: Can Walltalk be used outdoors?
Yes. The same as interior usage, the surface must be smooth, clean and dry. The number of ways to use Walltalk outside are endless...automobiles, boats and other recreational equipment, exterior windows and doors, fun decorations such as treated wooden signs and boards, mailboxes, outdoor patio furniture, etc.
Q: How long will Walltalk last when applied to something that is outdoors in varying temperatures?
Walltalk can last for months or years depending on the surface to which it’s applied and the environment it is in. Quotes intended for outdoor use may not last as long as those applied indoors because they are exposed to the elements.
Product Removal
Q: How do I remove a Walltalk from the surface?
Walltalk is easily removable by warming it slightly with a blow dryer on the low heat setting to soften the letters and then peel them off of the surface.
